Overview of Temecula

Temecula got its name from the Luiseno Indians that was later translated by the Spanish to “Where the sun breaks through the mist”. Temecula is a well-suited name for this city in Southern California because the weather allows for a perfect climate for a serene hot-air balloon trip, golfing, and wine tasting through 3,000 acres of wine country. The hot-air balloon adventure takes place in the wine country at sunrise. Once you lift off you can enjoy the beautiful array of colors from the sunrise hundreds of feet up in the air. You get to enjoy the unbelievable scenery of hillsides covered in vines throughout the wine country.

If you are a person who enjoys their feet on the ground at all times, Temecula has well known championship golf courses to enjoy from. Start your morning golfing and after a relaxing round of golf, continue entertaining yourself at the country club with food and drinks.

If golf is not your forte but you have a highly developed palette, then test it with some well-established wineries. Once you have found your favorite wine, complimented it with lunch or dinner and a show.

There are many visitors that come spend the day in Old Temecula that has over 640 antique dealers to shop from. Old Town also has a variety of shows to enjoy from such as car shows, semi-annual Rod Runs, Western Days, and summer weekend entertainment. Click here for more of Temecula's events.
